One day Annabì decided to say enough. Her whole life has been affected by her fear of flying and so has her career. She is a successful actress but has turned down many roles abroad because flying is an insurmountable obstacle for her. The impetus to enroll in the course to overcome fear of flying, however, came not from work but from her daughter Serena, who decided to go to study in California. A decision that has thrown Annabì into a panic, obsessed with the idea of not being a good mother and convinced that with the ocean in the way her daughter will forget about her for good.

So one morning, pulling a small trolley with her, she crossed the dreaded threshold of Fiumicino airport and headed to a secluded area, normally precluded to non-workers, where the course would take place. Like her, there are other mysterious travelers heading to the same place at the same time. Each of them has his or her own story and baggage of fears to overcome. They come from all over Italy and could not be more different in age, background, and social background. Welcoming the diverse group is a kind and smiling woman in her fifties; she is Ilaria, a psychologist. She will be the one to seat the participants around an oval table in a kind of classroom and introduce the experts who will conduct the course: with her, a psychologist specializing in aero-phobia, and Eugenio, a senior commander and pilot with twelve thousand hours of flying behind him. They will be the ones to take over the group of anxious people and prepare them to overcome their greatest fear: flying.
